The Entrance Campus is a large, proudly comprehensive co-educational school serving the needs of a diverse community. The school has an acknowledged and strong reputation for student welfare programs, a proud record of academic, cultural and sporting achievements and is recognised as having a welcoming, caring and supporting environment for its students. It is a school that cares for its students. The school’s motto is ‘New Horizons’ These words were particularly appropriate in 1970, the date of the opening of the school, as exploration of space was at its height. ‘New Horizons’ reflected the thrust of man’s exploration of new worlds and linked student’s exploration of new knowledge through their schooling. The school’s houses of Apollo, Gemini, Mariner and Vostock are part of that theme. The motto and the aims of the school are predicated upon providing educational experiences to promote student growth, love of learning and learning as a life long pursuit. The school is proud of its community and is strongly associated with it. That association can be seen in the school’s crest which portrays the features of the northern, southern, eastern and western points of the region, from The Entrance in the south to the Tuggerah Lakes to the north, with the waves of the ocean in the east and the calm of the lake to our west. With this in mind, The Entrance Campus seeks to prepare our students for tomorrow by working inclusively and co-operatively with the school community to provide a secure welcoming environment where the focus is very firmly upon effective learning through the offering of appropriate curricula, best practice teaching methodologies and the active promotion of lifelong learning.
The Entrance enrols students into Years 11 and 12 from our two feeder schools – Berkeley Vale and Tumbi Umbi – as well as a number of other schools in the district.
Students can enrol into a number of pathways and work towards achieving their HSC. These pathways include:
- Academic
